Big news I’m excited to share

Hey Reader,

I’ve been working on something behind the scenes that represents a meaningful shift in my work and in the way I serve leaders and creators. It’s a transition rooted in legacy, leadership, and the deeper purpose behind everything I’ve done so far. Today, I’m excited to share it with you.

In January 2026, I’ll be stepping into the role of steward, owner, and CEO of Presence-Based Coaching (PBC), the coach training and leadership development organization that has shaped me more than any other professional influence in the last decade.

This wasn’t a fast or simple decision. It’s unfolded through long conversations, stillness, discernment, and the unmistakable sense that this direction has already woven into my work for years. PBC is where my worlds of leadership, coaching, entrepreneurship, and teaching have finally come together, the culmination of many quiet threads weaving into one.

What is Presence-Based Leadership, you may be asking…

Presence-Based Coaching is a leadership approach that focuses on developing a leader's inner state of presence: awareness, stillness, immediacy, and possibility… all in an effort to grow beyond our old habits and patterns that aren’t serving us anymore. The teachings focus on neuroscience, mindfulness, somatics, and deep listening to foster more impactful leadership and transformation in individuals and organizations.

Beyond the coaching lingo, what I’ve learned as a student of PBC has truly changed the way I coach high-performing founders and creators. It's changed how I lead, how I show up as a husband and a parent, and at some point, it has stopped being just a methodology and become a way of being for me.

When the opportunity to carry this 20-year(!) lineage forward arrived, it felt less like a new direction and more like the next expression of the work I’ve been doing all along.

More on the decision
If you’ve followed my journey for a while, you know presence has quietly sat underneath every major decision I’ve made: building my first company at Living for Monday, helping scale Kit (previously ConvertKit), my career transition, and coaching leaders who want to do meaningful work without losing themselves.

More importantly, PBC has shaped how my wife and I cultivate our family, how we’re raising our boys, and it’s affected my choosing of what kind of man I want to become.

This next chapter with PBC feels like a natural continuation of that same throughline.

With love and respect,
Barrett
